happy valentines day!

this is SOOC, her eyes are that beautiful on their own! :)

Brandon & I celebrated v-day on Saturday.
That morning he woke up to a big arrow pointing down to a hot sauce packet. I know what your thinking, a hot sauce packet?
Well, I was going to leave a very cute assortment of red hots & hot tammales & a stick note that said "u r red hot." But, he ate them all. Hmpf. So the only other hot thing we had in the house was a taco bell hot sauce packet. I then left directions around the house up into the attic where his present was, which was a new Kenneth Cole watch, & a new Boston flat bill. {this years gift was a lot less work, last year i covered the inside of his car in over 100+ sticky notes, each had a reason why I loved him on it :)}
After work,
He came home & made me dinner & we ate in candle light.
Bug in her swing right next to us, it couldn't have been more perfect.
Then, I started choking on a small bone like drowling foaming at the mouth.
I couldn't breath it was awful, Brandon is standing there screaming "I DON'T KNOW THE HIM-LACK" & raises my arm & held his hand on the my stomach from behind. haha although nice, this did nothing.
My body then starts to react by trying to puke it up, when my lovley husband screams again " DON'T THROW UP, DON'T THROW UP" thanks dear.
I didn't throw up.

It eventually de-lodged.
& I was bawling & crying, it was so so scary.
When he says want something to make it feel better? I of course say yes.
He makes me guess what it is, I guess the new {well never than mine} photoshop. -Nope
I ask if is a "K" necklace {i really want just a inexpensive necklace with a "K" on it}
He gets all upset and puts a necklace box on the table, & I open it
It was a beautiful Open Heart necklace, from KAY jewelers haha
silly boy was all upset he thought I knew what it was :)
Anyway,  we fell asleep around 10 drinking champagne & playing with buggy all night.
I couldn't have asked for anything more PERFECT!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Valentines Day!

life with an apena monitor

This has been our lives the past few weeks with buggys monitor & the things I have learned:

Long Cords:
Though, functional. They are freakin long, & you will trip.
More than once.
BE CAREFUL.
If you were hooked up the monitor the heart alarm would go off.
Travel:
Simply put, it stinks.
Imagine:
baby, baby carrier, diaper bag, & purse. Did I pack enough diapers?
Oh,yeah don't forget the monitor that is as big as my purse!
Looks:
Not that I care what anyone thinks. But, I get the constant "what is she hooked up to?"
 "what is that thing?" "what's wrong with your baby?" I have even got the "Is your baby dying?"
Although, I have gotten the compassionate, "that sucks, I'm sorry your going through this" soft smile from concerned mothers. & people are more considerate.
Not that I will forget she hooked to this thing though scary, people make it impossible to forget.
Alarms:
These babies are loud. I know they are supposed to wake you up in the night {not that im not already up watching the blinks of the heart & lung lights all-night} but the alarm will wake up the whole neighborhood.
& no matter how many times it has gone off, it will still scare the ba-jesus out of you.

They also advise you not to touch your baby when it goes off, to assess. {for a few seconds}
I have yet to do that.How can you not touch/pick up your baby when you know they haven't been breathing for 20 seconds? Ya'll are on crack.
{update on alarms : we are up to 8}
Clothes:
Those adorable zip-up sleepers?
SUCK.
The hubby loves zip-up's  because with the buttons he never aligns them right & has to do them like three times haha.
The wires have to come up thru the top, giving her prime opportunity to grab them.
Forgetfulness:
I don't know how many time she is in her swing & just a laughing, so I of course can't resist, go & swoop her up only to be stepping on the cord forgetting she is hooked up & have her get hanked back. :(
Pads:
There is a strap that goes around her chest with he pads on each side each under her arm pit.
She had gotten a little irratated from them, so I left it off for a day last week.
Saturday at about 4 in the morning she started screaming.
I couldn't figure out what it was so I un swaddled her & noticed whenever she moved her arms the scream went up a billion decibels.
So, I un-did the strap & as I released it from her arm-pit the pads are velcro'd on to the strap as they were lift, it took of a huge square of skin with it.
I instantly started crying. It was BRIGHT red not mention it had no skin.
I feel like the worst momma in the world.
So, our life with monitor is over til Wed. when she has a appt.
So, for now I'm lovin' my non-wire baby.
But, terrified she stops breathing & I won't know.

Have I mentioned how much this sucks?
This isn't supposed to happen to my baby.
We have already been thru enough.

you can make an man into a daddy

...but you can't take the man out of a daddy

This evening, I was making a dish for hungry men that will be watching the UFC fights tonight. I left Bug in her crib {first timer here} but Brandon was just in the other room on the laptop {he was upstairs too} I still brought the monitor down so I could hear her. & switch between lullaby music & waves on my end for her to hear on her end.

She started fussing, & I heard Brandon go in talk to her saying such sweet things as I stood in my kitchen tilting my head to the side looking at the monitor I gave awe/sigh at sound of my husband & my daughter. When..
I hear him say..

"hey babe can you hear this?" {& he farts} followed the laughter & giggles.

Ladies & Gentleman{?} I give you my husband
a true "man's man"
